Thailand 90-Day Reporting Guide: Deadlines, Documents & Pattaya Help
Understand who must complete Thailand’s 90-day address notification, how the count works, available reporting channels, documents and common mistakes.
What is Thailand’s 90-day report?
Foreign nationals who remain in Thailand for more than 90 consecutive days must notify Immigration of their current address at the required intervals. The notification is commonly called a “90-day report” and uses Form TM.47.
A 90-day report is not a visa extension. Completing it does not extend permission to stay, replace a visa, or grant work authorization. The expiry date of the person’s permission to stay must be monitored separately.
For help reviewing a deadline and preparing the notification, see Buddy Visa’s 90-Day Reporting service in Pattaya.
Who needs to report?
The obligation generally applies to a foreign national who stays in Thailand continuously for more than 90 days. Immigration’s official TM.47 form states that the person must notify the immigration office every 90 days.
If the person leaves Thailand before the next report and later re-enters, Immigration guidance states that the count begins again from the latest entry. A new entry does not, however, change the separate permitted-stay expiry date beyond what Immigration grants on arrival.
Individual circumstances can differ. Passport changes, a rejected online notification, an address change, missing previous receipts, or an overdue report should be checked before choosing a reporting channel.
When should the report be prepared?
Use the next-report date shown on the latest Immigration receipt as the working deadline. For a first report or after international travel, calculate carefully from the relevant date and verify it with Immigration.
The official online guide allows an online request to be submitted in advance within the stated system window. Because online availability and acceptance can change, do not wait until the final day. If an online submission is not approved, the official system directs the applicant to contact the nearest immigration office in person as soon as possible.
Reporting channels
Depending on current Immigration procedures and eligibility, a notification may be made:
- through the official online TM.47 system;
- in person at the immigration office responsible for the residence;
- by an authorized person where the applicable office permits it; or
- by registered mail following the official document and timing instructions.
The correct method depends on prior records, the current address, system acceptance, and the local office. Online submission is not guaranteed to be available or approved for every report.
Documents and information commonly needed
Official Immigration guidance identifies items such as:
- passport and relevant passport details;
- completed and signed Form TM.47 for paper reporting;
- the previous 90-day report receipt, when one exists;
- current address and contact information;
- latest arrival information; and
- additional copies or mailing materials required for the selected channel.
Keep the new acknowledgement or receipt with the passport and record the next report date. Check all entered names, passport numbers, dates, and address details before submission.
Step-by-step preparation
1. Confirm the deadline
Review the previous receipt and any international travel since the last notification.
2. Check current passport and address records
Changes to a passport or residence may affect the information Immigration expects.
3. Choose an available channel
Confirm whether online, personal, authorized-person, or postal reporting is appropriate. Allow time for an alternative if the first method is unavailable.
4. Submit accurate information
Use the passport details and address exactly as required. Save submission evidence.
5. Verify acceptance and the next date
A submitted online form is not the same as an approved notification. Check the result, retain the official acknowledgement, and note the next date.
Common mistakes
- Confusing a 90-day report with a visa extension.
- Counting from an old receipt after leaving and re-entering Thailand.
- Waiting until the deadline before trying the online system.
- Assuming an online submission was approved without checking its status.
- Entering a passport number or address that does not match Immigration records.
- Losing the latest acknowledgement or failing to note the next date.

Frequently asked questions
Does a 90-day report extend my visa?
No. The TM.47 receipt expressly states that it is not an extension of stay. Monitor the permission-to-stay date separately.
Does the count restart after international travel?
Official Immigration guidance states that after departure and re-entry, the count starts again from the latest entry.
Can every report be completed online?
No guarantee can be given. The official system reviews submitted information and may instruct the applicant to contact Immigration in person.
Can someone report for me?
Some channels and offices allow an authorized person, but acceptance depends on the current procedure and the documents provided. Confirm before relying on this option.
